Looking for tips, fixes, critiques and comments on my website: Lantiis.com

I swear, it is only 8 pages - quick and painless!
No one has to proofread anything - I have people doing that already.
I need a few more people to test the forms found on the site.
I need to make sure the galleries are loading quickly and working/sorting.
I need to know if there are any broken links or images.
I would love input on how to help the site flow better.
I need people to check in every possible browser as well as on phones and tablets.
NO, the site is not done yet. This is just phase one to get me up and running... Still have credits to post, a blog and a store to create :/
I LOVE IT!

I like the great sense of typography and the layout of the informative pages.

I do have a few suggestions though. Of course, you don't have to listen to any of them or agree or anything like that. I just figured we've been honest enough with each other and here you are asking for critiques so you probably wouldn't mind.

I like the main splash page with the option to choose a route to either your drawings or photography. What I don't like is the title "Art is in the <3" Someone who is not familiar would really know what that means. "Art" can mean literally anything including art. What I would suggest is that you change it to "Illustration" and either get rid of the 'art is in the <3' entirely or make it a sort of subtitle somewhere else if it's a sort of catch phrase for you.

I'm  also not entirely sure about having just the circle navigation. Someone else mentions a site map, either that or a secondary navigation might be a good idea. I should be able to see all the pages a site has to offer in very minimal clicks. When I have to click through circles, I'm not really sure what I'm looking at until I get to a page. When I was clicking through the site, it took me a minute to find the home link at the bottom of the page when I wanted to go to the opposite side. You're super creative, but the 'average person' needs things really blatant and spelled out I think. When I go to lantiis . com I should immediately know who you are and what you're selling and I don't. I should immediately know that Lantiis and Elizabeth Whittaker are the same person and that you are a cartoonist and photographer.  There's got to be a better way to show that. Maybe with just a blurb of text under the crown.

Just as a side note. If you're trying to sell yourself as a serious artist, it might help to have a few examples that aren't just the magical girl senshi type characters in the gallery. Obviously, I like to draw the same kinds of things as you so i've struggled with this problem as well. Eventually, I decided to separate some of the anime stuff and reserve my 'professional portfolio' for the more realistic or more impressive works in my gallery. Unfortunately, with the over saturation of anime in internet art styles, rarely do people take someone seriously if all they have is anime style art. It can be ridiculous, considering every professional or freelance artist I know takes an interest in some sort of cartoon at some point and has done some sort of fanart at least once. At the very least, maybe vary your anime style or try different tones other than 'cute'. I don't mean to be a prick about this, I'm just sharing the stigmas I've experienced or noticed online. If you can show that you can alter your style for commissioners, it might open you up to a broader audience.

The last thing I can suggest is to try adding a little more color or subtle texture. Simple is great for a portfolio because the art speaks for itself, but playing with some color might help make things a little more interesting. It's a little too grey aesthetically and that's not super memorable.

Another idea I had was for the circles. Why not have them change to pink when the user mouses over? This would be a great way to make the site more interactive with the user.

Overall, the site does look pro. The gallery works good and the images display well for me. The images didn't instantly load for me it took a few seconds but not too long. I like whatever script your using for the images. It's good.

If you can, I would not set the myart.lantiis.com/gallery.html page to show all your works by default. If you can, just feature the best stuff so it makes an extra impressive first impression.

It really is a great site though. I love graphic / web design. This site is well on it's way. :3
